Mean Sardine Voragem

I was excited when the bartender at Lisbeer told me that they also had Voragem, a black IPA, from Mean Sardine in the cooler that wasn't on the beer list. From their name alone I wanted to try one of their beers! It poured black with a tan head that lasted. It had clean smells of roast and cola as well as light mango. The flavor was a bit subdued, until it warmed more. Eventually I could taste roast and char balancing with tropical and general fruitiness. The body was on the lighter side of medium, and it had prickly carbonation. I liked this beer and would definitely try more offerings from Mean Sardine, if I get the chance.

Overall: 8/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
