Mönchshof Bockbier

I had a good feeling when I saw this dark red brown beer and its ample head. It kind of looked like liquid pumpernickel. There were plenty of bready and dark fruit aromas, and overall it smelled sweet and tempting. The flavor was a mix of sweet and dark bread, molasses, syrup, as well as slight fruity taste of cherries. The beer was very smooth, and I couldn't taste the alcohol in it (6.9%). This beer was great and another notch toward me considering Mönchshof an excellent brewer.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
