Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale

This beer was a medium dark brown with a small white head. The aroma was a grapefruit citrus smell with some bread and grain malt. The flavors followed suit with a moderate mix of citrus grapefruit hop flavor and bready malt. I found this beer to be surprisingly bitter for the amount of hop flavor it had. I actually think it was a bit too bitter for the beer's flavor. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bitter beer, but I want adequate flavor to go along with it. Even though I wasn't super impressed with this beer I may give it another chance in the future.

Overall: 7/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
