Wychwood Hobgoblin

Trick or treat ghasts and ghouls! In honor of this unhallow night I will conjure forth a dreadful tale of death and deceit! (or maybe just a beer review)

An oddly small hairy man scuttled forth, "Would you like to quaff my ruby elixir? It will calm your sense and sooth your soul?"

"What is this elixir you herald oh small and scab like creature?"

"Why nothing more than this!" He said with a fizz.

"Why this looks magical! Absolutely astounding!" I declared lured in by its ruby body and playful white foam which adorned its head. "But I am no fool. Where is your play in this deal?"

"I am not one to play; merely wishing to endow relief upon the senses of man." My nose filled with the smell of bread, toffee, toasted grain, and caramel. There was even a slight hint of earthiness to this magic. My conscience implored to my mind to draw my sword and cut down this beast, but my heart swooned and my hand reached forth trembling.

My better judgement left and I placed my lips upon the chalice. Once again my senses were overrun as a mirad of malt; bread, biscuit, toffee, caramel, and toasted nuts enveloped me. There was something earthy and grassy about this magic which almost grounded me but, ultimately that was the yeast of my problems as this last flavor rendered me in awe.

"So what do you think?", he said chuckling.

"Its, its ..."

"Beer", his smile widened, "and I'm sure you'll never forget."

Overall: 8/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
