Buxton Ace Edge

Ace Edge is a special version of Buxton's very popular Axe Edge IPA. The difference is that the Ace Edge is brewed with Sorachi Ace hops instead of Amarillo, Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops. This beer was a full orange color with a small head. I could smell lemony citrus and light caramel. The flavor was lemon, citrus, tropical fruit, and some caramel. The mouthfeel was medium as well as the bitterness. I'd like to try the original to have a comparison, but for now I'll have to be left with this being a good but not stand out IPA.

Overall: 8/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
