Pilsner Urquell

Amazingly I managed to only drink Pilsner Urquell twice during my trip to Prague. One time it was part of a beer sampler and the other was when it was the only available beer at Thai Noodle Bar Modry Zub. It arrived very cold and a clear yellow with a small head. I couldn't make out anything distinct in the aroma, but considering the style and temperature of the beer that wasn't surprising. It tasted like a classic pils with pleasant malts and a smooth bitter finish. I found this beer to be neither good nor bad but still very drinkable. It went decently with my Pad Khing which was spicy and better than I expected. It quenched my thirst, so I figure it did what it came to do. I'm not a fan of the Pilsner style, but I do think Pilsner Urquell is one of the better within the style.

Overall: 7/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
