St. Norbert IPA

I was looking forward to going to the Strahov Monastery all week and enjoying their St. Norbert IPA paired with the pork tenderloin in beer and ginger. My beer was an orange brown with a decent amount of white head. I didn't smell too much aroma, but it did have a tempting fruitness while mixing slight sweetness and bitterness in the nose. The flavor revealed a well balanced IPA with a fine carbonation. There were enough sweet caramelly malts to mix well with the bitterness from the citrus and resin hops flavors. I really enjoyed this beer. My food and beer paired pretty well together, but I was surprised that the ginger was so muted compared to the beer in the sauce. If you find yourself in Prague and want a delicious IPA then the Strahov Monastery has what you are looking for.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
