Franziskaner Weissbier Kristallklar

I went with a couple of friends to pretty good Greek restaurant in Sternschanze called Olympisches Feuer one Saturday night for some food. It was busy and obviously very popular. Everyone was talking and having a good time besides the group of three sad faced German men drinking Beck's at the table next to us. I wanted to keep this mostly jovial mood going, so I decided to order a beer with my dinner.

I went with the Franziskaner Weissbier Kristallklar which is the last Weissbier from Franziskaner I've gotten around to trying (besides the low alcohol and alcohol free ones which I most likely won't try). It came an attractive golden color with a fairly large white head. I could smell wheat, grass, and banana. The flavors followed suit, and it was refreshing. I also noticed a lemony flavor, and then noticed a lemon slice floating in my beer. I was a bit disappointed, because I would prefer to drink the beer in its natural state the first time, but it worked with the overall light and refreshing flavors already present. It went well with my gyros plate and made for an enjoyable meal. This was probably my least favorite Weissbier from Franziskaner, but it still worth trying if you come across it.

Overall: 8/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
