Schneider Weisse Tap 6 Unser Aventinus

Don't worry there is plenty of alcohol in there.
I had this beer while at The Bird in Hamburg. Aventinus arrived a murky dark brown which looked a bit like liquid pumpernickel bread. The head was tan. There were a variety of smells including banana, raisin, date, wheat, yeast, spice, and alcohol. The flavor delved deeper into complexity with prominent banana, raisin, and date flavors as well as molasses, caramel, nuts, wheat, and a general spiciness. The alcohol was a bit too noticeable for what I like in a beer but not present to the point to make it unenjoyable. It paired well overall with my cheddar burger and fries. Overall this is an interesting beer brewed in an unique style and worth trying.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
