Riedenburger Dolden Sud IPA

The bottle says this is a Bavarian IPA. I'm not sure exactly what that means besides that it is an IPA brewed in Bavaria. It poured golden brown with a large white head. The smell was faint overall but there were some hints of citrus and apricot. The flavor started bitter but faded quickly to a more balanced and watery taste. There were hop flavors of citrus and apricot as well as bready malts. I thought this beer was way too light on the hops flavor for an IPA and the 55 IBUs didn't seem very bitter. This beer was cheap for an IPA in Germany, but I don't think I'll buy it again.

Overall: 6/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
