Would you invite a
Dirty Bastard over to your house? I did one night after dinner. It was a "dark ruby" like the description touted and the head was small and gone in an instant. I could smell roast and bubble gum from its unique aroma. I tasted chocolate, raisin, fig, caramel, roasted malts, and bitterness. The flavors were kind of reminiscent of a doppelbock, but it didn't feel syrupy like one in my mouth. I found the 8.5% ABV to be very noticeable which made this a sipping beer and a slow drink. I felt this beer was well constructed, but it didn't do it for me.
Overall: 7/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
