St. Bernardus Pater 6

Pater 6 was dark deep brown color with an off white head. The smells coming from the beer were light overall with raisins and cherries being the most noticeable. The flavors were more complex than the smell and included a mix of caramel, semi sweet chocolate, raisins, and a little sour cherry. This beer is a more sessionable interpretation of a dubbel at 6.7% ABV. It would serve as an excellent place to start for someone who prefers lower alcohol content beers and wants to become more familiar with this iconic Belgian style.

Overall: 8/10

About averageguysguidetobeer

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
