I really enjoy when I find beer brewed by a German brewery in a non German style. How many imperial stouts are even brewed in Germany? This solid black beer came out with about a finger's worth of tannish brown head which disappeared quickly. The aroma emanating from this beer was very strong and consisted of roasted malts, molasses, and caramel. The flavor started bitter, then moved on to the taste of the earlier aromas of roasted malt, molasses, caramel, bread, and finally ended light and sweet. I was impressed that barely any of the 9.1% of alcohol came through in the flavor. This beer was certainly complex and tasty and is worth grabbing if you see it on your journeys.
