Erdinger Weissbier

I had this Erdinger Weissbier on draft at Cafe Campus here in Hamburg which I mentioned in a previous post (this beer was had that same night). As expected this weizen was a cloudy orange yellow with a large white head. The aroma was standard with plenty of banana, some wheat and grain, as well as a little bit of yeast. The flavor was full of banana, grain, wheat, with some lighter tastes of clove and spice too. This beer was decent but not quite as good as some of the better hefeweizens in Germany. From what I've seen around town it seems to be the most available hefeweizen in stores and bars. I prefer wheat beers from a bottle instead of on draft and may have enjoyed this beer a bit more if that had been the case.

Overall: 6/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
