Urthel Samaranth

This beer poured a dark brown with a classically Belgian huge tan head. It smelled of sugar, bread, cherry, stone fruit, molasses and alcohol ... lots of alcohol. Brown sugar, cinnamon, bread, roastiness and the ever present alcohol made up the flavor. This beer was okay but a bit lacking due to the main aroma and flavor being alcohol. While the 11.5% is quite high other Belgian beers elegantly incorporate or cover the alcohol instead of allowing it to sit in the front and the back of the experience.

Overall: 7/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
