Birra del Borgo and Dogfish Head My Antonia

I wasn't too impressed with the selection at Open Baladin, but I was pretty excited to see the collaboration, My Antonia, on the beer board. It was a hazy yellow gold with a disturbingly lumpy white head. The aroma was tropical with mango and some lighter citrus. The flavor continued the tropical vibe with more mango and pineapple as well as some grapefruit and general citrus smells. This beer is billed as a strong pale lager or an imperial pilsner, but it tastes just like an IPA. It was very bitter and there is no way I would be able to pick it out as anything other than an IPA or a DIPA in a blind taste test. I did really like this beer and found it to be impressive.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
