Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale

This brown ale was an attractive chestnut color with an off white head. The aroma was nutty with hints of caramel but overall subdued. The flavor was full of malt. It featured caramel and nut as well as a slight chocolate flavor. This beer was really drinkable. It was sweet and smooth and kind of reminded me of drinking a liquid brownie. There was some bitterness to the aftertaste but overall there was not much noticeable hops in the flavor. I enjoyed this beer and I think it is a great brown ale.

Overall: 8/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
