Störtebeker Hansa Porter

The tan head immediately disappeared from this blackish dark brown beer. The smell was roasted malts and water which made me nervous. The flavor was roasted malt, caramel, syrup, and sugar. This beer was a too sweet kind of gross monstrosity that tasted like someone had dumped a bunch of sugar in my beer. Störtebeker makes some of the more drinkable and interesting beers that are widely available in grocery stores in northern Germany but this was just horrible.

Overall: 3/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
